A Question About Ubuntu
I have a new PC and am about to install Win XP Professional on it. Thanks to populicio.us I just found a way to make it a dual-boot machine with Ubuntu on it as well. Is it worth it?

If you have plenty of disk space to spare and you make sure to back up all valuable files on your computer before a major change like installing a new operating system, it's worth installing a more user-friendly Linux desktop like Ubuntu to see if you can get your work done with Linux. I found I could get most of what I wanted to do done under Linux, but not quite everything (my needs are more demanding than most people's though). I prefer the Gnome desktop to KDE because it has a more consistent, less cluttered interface.
